The Homeschool Community within the Diocese of Colorado Springs is a large, diverse, and growing population of Catholic families. These families take their Baptismal responsibilities to teach, preach, and lead to the heart of the home. These homes are domestic churches that are in communion with our Bishop, our Holy Father, and the teachings of the Magisterium of the Church.
The goal of the Homeschool group is to provide communication, support, and fellowship to all who are called to teach their children at home. We sponsor activities throughout the year designed to enrich the entire family – events such as an annual Homeschool Mass in the fall, an All Saints Day Party for the children, Confirmation retreats, etc. The group consists of families that have been teaching at home for more than 15 years, families that are just getting started, those who are considering this step, and everything in between. The group website has many useful links for information on homeschooling, such as the USCCB list of approved religious education text, Catholic Homeschool programs and materials, and other ideas that can be used to further enhance your individual programs.
