As a biblically-illiterate Catholic, I did not know how that limited my understanding of my Faith until I decided to try the Catholic Biblical School’s First Year program. I was hooked after the second class. Our deep exploration of Salvation History has changed my perspective on so many things. And the discussions in our small group (a mix of cradle Catholics and converts) added a special dimension. I’m now a stronger Catholic, eager to learn more, and armed against the threats to our Christian way of life.

Participating in the Catholic Biblical School was life changing. It was a four-year journey of healing that left me yearning for more time with God in prayer, at Mass, and through further reading of His Word. My relationship with God grew exponentially; I became much more aware of His presence. (5 out of 5 stars!)

This course has enriched my prayer life and prompted me to greater exploration of our Catholic Faith. Give it a try:  you’ll meet knowledgeable, engaging instructors and participate in lively discussions.

I wasn’t sure my Catholic background was strong enough to keep up with these studies...for 4 years. But I prayed that the Holy Spirit would help me and He did. What a blessing it has been!  Each year, I learned more than I ever knew about our Faith. I was studying with other Catholics and our group discussions were enlightening and encouraging. When I graduated, I was very proud of myself.

Thanks to the DCBS, I put to rest many misconceptions I’d gained through faulty knowledge or personal misinterpretation. Most importantly, I experienced what St Ignatius said:  "What satisfies and satiates the soul is not merely knowing a lot about a topic but feeling and tasting it interiorly." I’m now able to meditate on the Word of God at a deeper level and to receive its graces through contemplating its mysteries.

As an avid reader who’s been a catechist for 20 years, and even taught the Great Adventure Timeline,  I signed up for the DCBS to just keep learning. Little did I know the profound impact it would have on me! For the first time in my life, I became immersed in God's unbelievable plan for my own salvation by being able to enter into its unfolding through history…the actual people, places and events God uses to tell us who He is -- and so to tell us who WE are! The insights gained in those classes have so deepened my walk with Christ and His Church that I encourage everyone I meet to enter into this wonderful study!

While intrigued by the Biblical School program, I wondered if I -- not having studied in over 40 years – could complete a 4-year course?  I did!  As a convert, I appreciated studying the books that were not in my Protestant Bible; learning the Church’s one perspective, after being exposed to so many; discovering the Bible is a whole story; and seeing how Scripture supports the Church’s teachings. Learning more about this great treasure makes us more steadfast in our faith and better witnesses to a hurting world.
