COLORADO SPRINGS. The Covenant of Love Date Night program at Corpus Christi Parish will resume monthly meetings on Sept. 30 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the parish hall. The speaker will be Father Nathan Cromley of the Community of St. John, who will also be the featured speaker at the Dec. 9 and Feb. 10 meetings.
 

Prenups, marriage: no match made in heaven

If you think prenuptial agreements are only for the rich and famous, think again. A 2013 survey of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers revealed that 63 percent of divorce attorneys say they’ve seen an increase in the number of prenups being contracted.

But these agreements, which define how assets will be divided in the event of divorce, are the antithesis of establishing a life together to last a lifetime.

There are a few changes — nothing revolutionary — but it brings a great opportunity to look anew at the importance of this institution between a man and a woman, and to deepen our understanding of how it may be lived and supported.

COLORADO SPRINGS. The Diocese of Colorado Springs’ Office of Marriage and Family Life is sponsoring a retreat for married couples Feb. 3-4 at Holy Apostles Parish. Father Jacques Philippe,  a France-based priest of the Community of the Beatitudes, will lead the retreat.
