COLORADO SPRINGS. Janet Morana, executive director of Priests for Life and founder of the organization Silent No More, will be the keynote speaker at the Bishop’s Respect Life Dinner on Oct. 27 at 6 p.m. at The Broadmoor Hotel.

COLORADO SPRINGS. A rosary and candlelight prayer vigil will take place on Oct. 13 on the sidewalk in front of the Planned Parenthood clinic on Centennial Boulevard in Colorado Springs. The rosary will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by music and the candlelight vigil at 7 p.m. The event is part of the annual 40 Days for Life prayer effort to end abortion that runs Sept. 27-Nov. 5, and Oct. 13 is the 100th anniversary of the final apparition of the Blessed Mother in Fatima, Portugal in 2017. COLORADO SPRINGS. The fall 40 Days for Life prayer vigil will take place Sept. 27-Nov. 5 from 6 a.m.-6 p.m. each day on Centennial Boulevard near Planned Parenthood. The kick-off event will be Sept. 22 at 9 a.m., consisting of the Rachel Rosary and prayer.

Couples who struggle to get pregnant are turning with greater frequency to the in vitro fertilization (IVF) industry for assistance. In some cases, they can end up feeling they are “too pregnant” when twins, triplets or quads arise.

Some people may wish to “donate their body to science” after they die. Such a gift of themselves can be objectively good and praiseworthy provided that their body would contribute to meaningful research or study, and that it would not be used in a disrespectful or otherwise inappropriate manner.

Amid celebrating the joy of Christ’s resurrection, we pause to remember the dark shadow cast over Colorado 50 years ago. April 25, 2017 marked the 50th anniversary of Colorado becoming the first state in the nation to legalize abortion.
