TRIBUNAL FEE SUMMARY

Please note that, in accordance with Canon 1649 of the Code of Canon Law, the following fees have been established for the processes identified below. All fees are subject to change.

NULLITY CASES (Updated 08/16/16)

Lack of Form processing fee:  $60.00

Ligamen processing fee:  $120.00

Ordinary Canonical Process:

Filing fee (required for every case and due when case is submitted):  $30.00

Processing fee (required for every case and due when case is accepted):  $425.00

Briefer Process: $250.00

Other potential fees:

Court expert fee (only for cases requiring a psychological expert):

Document Review:  $150.00

Interview:  $200.00

Court of Second Instance fees:

Appeal fee charged by the Archdiocese of Denver: $200.00

Appeal fee charged by the Roman Rota: $850.00

 

DISSOLUTION OF MARRIAGE CASES

Pauline Privilege processing fee: $120.00

Petrine Privilege:

Processing fee to be paid to the Diocese of Colorado Springs: $250.00

Processing fee to be paid to Rome: $475.00

Ratum et Non Consummatum:

Processing fee to be paid to the Diocese of Colorado Springs:  $250.00

Processing fee to be paid to Rome:  $1,150.00

FINANCIAL HARDSHIP

All fees listed above can be paid over time according to an arranged schedule of payments. Fees can be waived in the case of genuine financial hardship at the discretion of the Judicial Vicar. If a request to waive fees is submitted, financial documents must accompany the request to demonstrate financial hardship.

*If either party decides to hire a professional canon lawyer as legal representation, the party who hires said professional is soley responsible for any and all retainers, fees, and expenses. The amount of these moneys must be negotiated between the advocate and the party.
