CATHOLIC SCHOOLS The mission of our Catholic School ministry is to foster the development of students during their formative years, in the spiritual, moral, intellectual and emotional characteristics of Catholic education, traditions and values. We believe in teaching children values that are in harmony with the Gospel, and we are convinced that our role as educators is vital to the continued transformation of the world. We admit students of any race, color or national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities available to students at the school. CURRICULUM Our Catholic school curriculum and program center on our Christian Catholic beliefs. We strive to create a faith community through daily prayer, participation in liturgies, reception of the sacraments and a strong religion curriculum. Independent studies over a period of years show Catholic school students nationwide with higher test scores in the areas of reading, math and science in grades 3, 7 and 11. Eighty three percent of students graduating from Catholic schools nationally go on to post-secondary education. The schools of the Diocese of Colorado Springs currently score in the 1st quartile, or top 75 per cent of students nationally in all subject areas on the annual standardized testing (SAT, Stanford Achievement Tests). ACCREDITATION Our elementary schools and high school are fully accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools; a dynamic school accreditation and evaluation organization recognized both nationally and internationally (Department of Defense Schools use this accreditation association both here and abroad).
