 Returning God's Gifts 2011

Returning God’s Gifts is really important.

Why? It feeds the hungry, provides housing to the homeless, funds education for qualified students, reaches college kids, forms priests, helps our church leaders to carry out the mission of the church.

Your gifts help feed the hungry.

This is Marc and his Wife Amber.
Homeless. Disabilities prevent him from working. She lost her job. They don't qualify for assistance.  They spend most of the day trying to feed their two children.
They'll make it -- they want to make it. But they need to eat. They often eat with us at Catholic Charities in this Diocese, funded by you and this appeal.

Your gifts help house homeless families.

After her husband left and their rental home was foreclosed on, Kelly found herself and two children living out of a car.  Partners in Housing, an agency of the Diocese, provided Kelly and her children housing and critical support to get their lives back together.

Your gifts help Catholic Schools and College Ministries

It's one of the most urgent needs we have -- preparing youth and young adults to enter the world well formed by Catholic Teaching.  Your gift supports Catholic education in elementary schools, College Ministries, and parish religious education programs throughout the Diocese.

Your gifts help form new Priests

Your gift helps to form well educated and holy priests.  Priests are responsible for the souls of everyone within our Diocese.  That's about 15,000 people per priest -- even new ones like Deacon Joe Dygert who will be ordained to the priesthood this year.
