Catholic Charities accepting applications for mini-grants
COLORADO SPRINGS. Catholic Charities of Central Colorado is accepting applications for mini-grants in amounts of $500-$2,500. The purpose of the mini-grant program is to encourage and support initiatives at the parish and community level. Funds for mini-grants come from the collections taken in parishes for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development and Catholic Relief Services. Twenty-five percent of funds collected are retained by the diocese. Priority will be given to projects that involve the parish or surrounding community in encountering the poor; bring dignity to the poor and vulnerable either through advocacy or direct service; or are less established and need seed funds. Projects must be affiliated with a church, school or other 501c3 organization, and recipients must be willing to track the number of people helped with the ministry. Applications are due June 16. For more information, contact Corey Almond, vice president of community and parish engagement, at 719-866-6510 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
