COLORADO SPRINGS. Pia Flynn and her brother, Davey, attend the same Denver Catholic grade school.  They ride in the same carpool, they both name P.E. as the favorite part of their day, and when they pass each other in the hall they share a hug.  Pia has Down syndrome; Davey does not. They attend the same school due in part to the FIRE Foundation, an institution that provides Catholic schools funding for teacher training, specialized instructors, and adaptive technologies pertinent to students with special educational needs.

COLORADO SPRINGS.  Our Lady of Walsingham Academy (OLWA), Colorado Springs’ first classical Catholic high school, has named Andrew Rossi as headmaster. He succeeds Mark Langley, who served as OLWA headmaster since the school’s founding in 2021.  

COLORADO SPRINGS. The founders of Mater Filius Colorado Springs estimated it would take more than a year to raise the $2.5 million required to create a home for pregnant women in need.  Instead, the capital campaign concluded after a brief and exquisitely appropriate gestation of nine months, reaching its goal on Sept. 8, 2022, the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. 

COLORADO SPRINGS. When a parish sends a young man to seminary, it’s an occasion for rejoicing. When a parish sends two, it’s a special blessing. Currently, Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Colorado Spring’s Old North End has eight (!) young men in various phases of seminary formation.
