COLORADO SPRINGS. Scores of Colorado children are toasty warm this winter thanks to the annual Coats for Kids project.

Conducted by the Knights of Columbus (K of C) Our Lady of Guadalupe Chapter and Catholic Charities of Central Colorado (CCCC), Coats for Kids provides children with a warm, winter coat. Financial assistance is provided to the sick, disabled, and the needy and their families through this project.

COLORADO SPRINGS. Christmas is the time of year when people exchange presents as a reminder of the gifts brought to celebrate the birth of baby Jesus.

Since Jesus’ arrival more than 2,000 years ago, people have given gifts to re-confirm or establish their connection with others. Offering a gift to someone we care about allows us to communicate our feelings and appreciation for them.

COLORADO SPRINGS. Human trafficking is a violation of human rights and everyone must act now in order to prevent this crime from spiraling out of control, according to John DiGirolamo, author and member of St. Joseph Parish in Salida.

COLORADO SPRINGS. About 1,000 people attended a three-day event marking the 100th anniversary of Sacred Heart Parish in Colorado Springs.

The event kicked off July 15 with celebrants taking advantage of the food trucks offering an assortment of cultural dishes. Craig’s Fusion Mobile Restaurant provided an assortment of Venezuelan cuisine and Papa Bear’z Grill Restaurant, a taste of America. Wicked Good Ice Cream catered to those seeking a sweet tooth fix.
