Hours:   Saturdays and Sundays - 7:45a.m.-12:30p.m. or 12:15p.m. - 5:00p.m.

Job Description:  

Summary:  Must always maintain an understanding and appreciation of the philosophy and Mission Statement of the Franciscan Retreat Center.  Responsible for guest interface during weekend hours.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for reporting any events/emergencies to the Director or on-call individual
  • Responsible for taking payments for items purchased through the gift shop/making change
  • Responsible for guest check-out as well as responding to any guest needs
  • Responsible for preparing coffee for morning/afternoon coffee services
  • Responsible for taking down coffee service in morning/afternoon
  • Responsible for running mugs through dishwasher
  • Responsible for cleaning kitchen and making sure coffee pots are cleaned
  • Responsible for trashing out of meeting rooms at appropriate times
  • Responsible for tidying up the restrooms – trashing out
  • Responsible for restocking hand towels and toilet paper in restrooms
  • Responsible for cleaning up any leftovers from meeting rooms after groups leave
  • Responsible for changing water dispensers when empty
  • Other miscellaneous duties may be required as needed with regard to turn around

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED (General Education Degree)
  • One to three months related experience and/or training

  • Ability to communicate effectively with groups of guests or employees of the organization

Mathematical Skills:

MUSIC MINISTRY DIRECTOR - ST. PETER CATHOLIC CHURCH (MONUMENT, CO)

Team: Music Department

Status: Full-time exempt, in-office/onsite (40 hrs./wk.)

Salary: $65,000.00 -$68,000.00 / annual (BOE)

Summary: To promote, coordinate and develop the active participation of the parish community in liturgical prayer and music.

This position is primarily onsite, with occasional nights and weekends required, based on the needs of the parish. This role requires a friendly, helpful, person with good judgment and a heart for serving the staff and community. 

Responsibilities:

Parish:

  • Weekly direct the music and cantors for the Saturday 5:00pm, Sunday 8:00 and 10:30am and 5:00pm liturgies. Cover holy days, Lenten Friday nights, Parish retreats & missions, regional Masses and other as needed
  •  Act as accompanist at weekend Masses and seasonal liturgies
  • To oversee all liturgical music for the weekend liturgies, assuring continuity throughout the liturgies and reviewing the music selections for each liturgy six weeks in advance
  • With DRE coordinate and help execute the music for children's sacramental celebrations
  • Partner with Pastor and DRE to design, prepare and execute all liturgies including various seasonal liturgies such as Lent, Easter, etc.
  • Meet with engaged couples and coordinate music for weddings. Meet with families and coordinate music for funerals. Attend staff and liturgy meetings
  • Meet with other music leaders before every liturgical season to coordinate appropriate music for that season

School:

  • Meet with teachers to plan occasional school liturgies
  • Accompanist during school Masses

Administrative:

  • To serve as a resource person to parish staff and parish at large on the subject of music within liturgical worship
  • Advertise and promote activities by use of weekly parish bulletin flyers, pulpit announcements and other appropriate media
  • Coordinate maintenance and repair of all parish owned instruments. Coordinate with outside contractors to maintain sound system
  • Supervise the person responsible for operating the sound system
  • Order and distribute all music requested by music leaders
  • Complete all volunteer paperwork and training as per Diocesan guidelines
  • Coordinate replacement musicians for specific absences
  • Submit purchase orders and ensure timely ordering of supplies
  • Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions


Budget:

  • Propose a yearly budget plan of itemized financial assessment of the cost and expenses for the following items: a) Equipment b) Choir materials, c) Staff development expenses (professional memberships & subscriptions), d) Contracted musicians

Minimum Requirements: Ability to play piano and organ, choir direction skills, good sense and knowledge of catholic church liturgy

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Know and pray for volunteers and families

  • Equip volunteers for success in forming children in the faith
  • Care for the needs of the volunteers in practical and tangible ways

    • Coordinate monthly catechist gatherings
  • Maintain clear and constant communication with volunteers, including regarding schedules, safe environment training, etc.
  • Cooperate intensively with the families of our children, re-proposing the Gospel to them and helping them to be the first and best catechists of their children. Find ways to help the family as a whole to encounter God in the Sacraments and live life as a family flowing from the Sacraments
    • Coordinate monthly elementary family gatherings
  • Work together collaboratively with the other members of the faith formation team, pursuing a shared vision of the life that God desires to share with us and the joy of the Gospel
  • Oversee faith formation programs for elementary school-aged children, helping children to experience the joy that comes from knowing the God who loves them and enabling them to interpret their experiences in the light of the Gospel
    • Coordinate weekly religious education classes for children in grades K-5 and help children and their families prepare for the sacraments of Baptism, Reconciliation, and Eucharist
    • Coordinate with Ave Maria Catholic School teachers to assist students through sacramental preparation
    • Develop spiritually nourishing, engaging and fun activities during the summer and at other times to help children discover the joy and beauty of the Faith
    • Organize and record pertinent information for Sacramental Records

FACILITIES TECHNICIAN - AVE MARIA CATHOLIC CHURCH AND SCHOOL (PARKER, CO)

General Purpose: To further the religious and spiritual mission of the Ave Maria Catholic School and Church by providing a variety of maintenance tasks, such as landscape, carpentry, minor electrical, plumbing, and painting at the School, Gym, Brownstein Hall, Dwyer Hall, Church, 2 Rectories and the Entire Premises. This includes cleaning, event set-up and takedown and securing of facilities. Minor maintenance included. Along with other essential duties and responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety of yourself, the clergy, staff, students, parents, parishioners and a visitors by following the safety guidelines at all times
  • Stay up to date with Virtus and the Virtus Coordinator at all times
  • Perform light maintenance, repairs and special projects as needed, including light electrical (Example: changing light bulbs, replacing light fixtures, ballasts, outlets and switches), carpentry, replacing ceiling tiles, repairing equipment and facility to include plumbing fixtures, plumbing, and making emergency repairs in a timely manner
  • Keep Sanctuary and bathrooms cleaned and sanitized between  Masses on Saturday and Sunday
  • Complete necessary set-up, take-down and cleaning associated with events and functions.  This may include wall partitions, tables, chairs, etc. Move and maintain office furniture and equipment when needed.
  • Painting/staining to include interior and exterior work when needed.
  • Perform demolition during renovation, as required.
  • Keep sidewalks free of debris and snow (occasionally before and after hours, as needed)
  • Plow snow in parking lot, clear sidewalks, walkways, entrances, basketball courts, and field of snow and ice. Spread ice melt on entrances, sidewalks and walkways. Be available for early arrival for snow removal. (4:00am)
  • Backpack clear entryways and walkways to make sure walkways are clear of debris.
  • Ensure the sprinkler system is operating properly to include startup and shutdown.
  • Maintain attractive grounds including fertilizing, mow, trim, and rake lawn, plant flowers and bushes, and clear weeds.
  • Spray weed kill in areas of weed growth.
  • Maintain the field by using the equipment provided
  • Maintain roof and roof drains clear of debris quarterly, or more, as needed.
  • Organize janitor's closets, monitors supplies and alerts supervisor regarding maintenance of adequate stock. Manages inventory of tools/supplies in good working order.
  • Maintain and clean parking lot. Pick up trash around the premises
  • Identify and schedule maintenance issues that need repair/attention.
  • Oversees contractors in the absence of the Facilities Manager
  • Assist/ perform in testing and inspecting 2 elevators on a monthly basis.
  • Participates in weekly and monthly department meetings.
  • Back up to Facilities Manager on alarm calls. Be available for on call on a 24-hour, 7 day a week basis for emergencies and troubleshooting HVAC control system.
  • Perform other task and responsibilities assigned by the Facilities Manager, Business Manager, Pastor and School Principal.
  • Regular timely attendance during stated core hours or hours approved by the pastor and management
  • Make sure buildings are secure before leaving for the night
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds individually & 100 lbs team lift, as well as having complete mobility in building and grounds activities
  • Ability to provide own transportation for job-related responsibilities including giving staff and clergy a ride on occasion. Pick up/ drop off equipment, bus, shuttle, Sunday donuts. Have a clean driving record, insurance and registration
  • Maintain a basic knowledge of industrial chemicals
  • Must be able to work independently, be self-directed, and thorough in completing projects in full

Reports to:       

Pastor and/or Associate Pastor; coordinates with the Director of Music at Sacred Heart Church.

 

Work Hours:   

Saturday, 4 pm at Holy Rosary Chapel in Cascade, and Sunday, 5 pm at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Manitou Springs, and all necessary planning, preparation, and rehearsal time.

                        

Responsibilities:         

  • Planning and preparation for the liturgical music at each Mass
  • Provide keyboard accompaniment, both piano and organ   
  • Choir preparation, communications, and rehearsal as needed
  • Coordinate with the Music Director at Sacred Heart to ensure consistency and appropriateness of music selections for the Catholic liturgical year

 

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of the Roman Catholic Liturgy and experience with the structure and requirements of liturgical music
  • Competency with piano and organ; must read music
  • Experience with directing a choir or music ensemble; ability to work comfortably and productively with varied levels of singing/musical skill
  • Willingness to invite and encourage participation by volunteer choir members and musicians
