On February 7, 2026, His Holiness Pope Leo XIV appointed Bishop James R. Golka, bishop of the Diocese of Colorado Springs, as the Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Denver.

After the Mass of welcome on March 25, 2026, the Diocese of Colorado Springs became a "Vacant See." Then, following church law, the Diocese's College of Consultors elected Very Rev. Kyle Ingels to be administrator until such time that the Holy Father names a new Bishop for our Diocese.

The Bishop's Office is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Diocese of Colorado Springs.
