19 Nov, 2022 — 22 Nov, 2022    2746 Fifth St. Castle Rock CO United States
Eucharistic Revival on the Solemnity of Christ the King
Event details

LONG LIVE CHRIST THE KING!

Saint Francis of Assisi Parish in Castle Rock will begin the three-year Eucharistic Revival on the Solemnity of Christ the King (November 19-20).  Everyone is invited to the traditional Forty Hours Devotion, November 19-21.

The Forty Hours Devotion is a special 40-Hour period of continuous prayer made before Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament in the main sanctuary of the church.  The focus of this devotion is on Jesus, His Real Presence, in the Most Blessed Sacrament of the altar. The Forty Hours will begin on Saturday, November 19 at the 5:30 PM Mass and continue through Monday morning, November 21.

The number “40” has always signified a sacred period of time in the Bible:  for Noah and the Ark, for the Jewish people wandering in the desert, and for Jesus fasting and praying in the wilderness.  The Forty Hours Devotion remembers, too, that traditional 40-hour period from his burial until his resurrection.

Beginning Saturday night, November 19, the Blessed Sacrament will remain on the altar in the MONSTRANCE.  For forty hours, everyone is invited to gather for quiet prayer in adoration of Christ our King.  The Blessed Sacrament will be reposed in the tabernacle for the celebration of Sunday Masses, but will be exposed again throughout the day and overnight, both Saturday and Sunday.  The Knights of Columbus will accompany us in prayer overnight, both nights.  The church will be open all night, Saturday and Sunday.  Father Mark Zacker will preach at all the Masses for Christ the King.  Please join us and invite your friends and family for this beautiful opportunity to fall deeper in love with Christ our King in the Most Blessed Sacrament of the altar.
