Kathy Jung, longtime St. Mary’s High School staffer, dies at age 61

COLORADO SPRINGS. Kathy Jung, a longtime volunteer and employee at St. Mary’s High School and a member of St. Paul Parish, died Dec. 23 at age 61. 
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Jan. 5 at St. Paul, followed by burial at Pikes Peak National Cemetery.

Jung was born Aug. 7, 1961, in Chicago and graduated from Bowie High School in Maryland. She married her husband Steve in 1983 and the couple had four children, all of whom graduated from St. Mary’s High School. For more than two decades, she volunteered and worked for St. Mary’s in various capacities. 

She helped with auctions, drove vans for sports teams and learned to clean and repair books over the summer. She began working full-time in the business office in 2007.  
She is survived by her husband; children Alex, Megan, Samantha and Adam, her mother Johanna Jeffrey, her sister, Brown Eagle “Terrie” Lindsay, her brothers Mark Jeffrey and Kyle Jeffrey, and her five grandchildren.
