Bakhita Mountain Home fundraising walk set for August 6

COLORADO SPRINGS. A one-mile fundraising walk for Bakhita Mountain Home, a two-year program for adult women survivors of human trafficking, will take place Aug. 6 at 9 a.m. on the grounds of Mount St. Francis. Those who plan to participate are asked to register before July 22 at www.bakhitamountainhome.org. Sponsorship opportunities are also available by contacting Liz Kosofsky at liz@bakhitamountainhome.org

COLORADO SPRINGS. A local church is preparing to celebrate a century of spiritual service to the Colorado Springs community. Sacred Heart Catholic Church, which turns 100 on July 16, will hold festivities during a three-day period at 2030 W. Colorado Ave.

Summer has been full of Pro-Life Activities

COLORADO SPRINGS. Exciting pro-life things are happening in our diocese — none of them related to the Supreme Court of the United States.

On June 4, the Catholics 4 Life Network team supported long-time partners and friends from Life Network at Memorial Park and around the diocese in the annual Walk for Life. As a team, Catholics 4 Life Network raised over $90,000 for Life Network. That made us the top fundraising team — an accolade we have earned for more than a few years.

STEM Camp continues to be a popular summer activity

COLORADO SPRINGS. At St. Mary’s High School, summer means STEM Camp and a chance for area students to try out STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) activities both on campus and around the local community. This year’s camp was the seventh one hosted by St. Mary’s and continues to be popular with Colorado Springs students.
