VERY REVEREND KYLE INGELS, DIOCESAN ADMINISTRATOR

Father Kyle Ingels grew up in Colorado Springs and graduated from Cheyenne Mountain High School. He attended the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., where he discerned his priestly vocation. He completed his theological studies at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary in Emmitsburg, Maryland, and was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Washington, D.C., on May 28, 2005.

After ordination, he served as parochial vicar at St. Jane de Chantal Parish in Bethesda, Maryland, for two years before being named chaplain at the University of Maryland’s Catholic Student Center in 2007. In that role, he ministered to roughly 2,000 Catholic students on campus.

In 2014, he returned to the Diocese of Colorado Springs, where the late Bishop Michael Sheridan named him Director of Campus Ministry. For the next several years, Father Kyle celebrated Mass for college students in temporary locations while working to establish a permanent campus ministry center in the Diocese of Colorado Springs. On Sept. 17, 2019, the diocese broke ground on a permanent site for a chapel and student center near the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. On Feb. 20, 2021, Bishop Sheridan presided at the chapel’s dedication. The St. John Henry Newman Chapel and Catholic Student Center, located at 4785 Stanton Rd., now offers weekday and Sunday Masses as well as a variety of spiritual, social and cultural activities for college students.

On July 1, 2024, Bishop James Golka appointed Father Ingels Vicar General of the Diocese of Colorado Springs. Since 2024, he has also hosted a weekly podcast called “The Summit,” where he interviews guests about various topics. It can be found at https://thesummitwithfatherkyleingels.podbean.com/ and several other platforms, including Spotify and Apple Podcasts.

Father Ingels continued to serve as Vicar General until Feb. 7, 2026, when Bishop Golka was appointed Archbishop of Denver. On March 26, 2026, the College of Consultors elected him Diocesan Administrator.
