Herald ads take top two spots at CPA Awards
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. The Colorado Catholic Herald won first and second place in the Catholic Press Association’s 2019 Awards Competition in the category of “Best Single Ad Originating with the Publication — Color.”
The first place award was given to “Pray Ball,” an ad for a softball game between priests of the Archdiocese of Denver and the Diocese of Colorado Springs that took place in 2018. The second place award was given to an ad for the annual diocesan Blue Mass.
Both ads were designed by Herald advertising manager Becki Davis and Dave Kottler of Apex Communications.
Judges noted that the “Pray Ball” ad was “a fun, vibrant ad that attracts attention” and that the “Blue Mass” ad was “constructed in a way that attracts attention and draws in the reader.”
