COLORADO SPRINGS. Bishop Michael Sheridan will dedicate “The Hope Monument,” on the grounds of St. Dominic Parish in Security on June 4 at 1 p.m.

The monument, erected in honor of former St. Dominic pastor Father Bill Carmody, consists of a statue of Jesus cradling an infant while holding a mother’s hand, with a plaque that reads “Given to St. Dominic Catholic Church to provide hope to those suffering from abortion, miscarriage, stillbirth and early infant death. Solemnly dedicated by Bishop Michael J. Sheridan June 4, 2017 in memory of Father Bill Carmody.”

The plaque will also contain a quote from Father Carmody in which he said, “Project Rachel (post-abortive ministry) is the most profound experience I have had as a priest — watching people heal from what they believe is an unforgiveable sin and finding God’s forgiveness.”
