(Editor’s Note: Following are tributes submitted in honor of Bishop Sheridan by several individuals and organizations who worked closely with him during his tenure as ordinary of the diocese:

Priorities are just a list until they’re tested . . . ” The person who first expressed this sentiment could easily have been a modern business professional.  The modern world, particularly the business world, encourages the setting of priorities.

COLORADO SPRINGS. Aug. 22, 1992, was the first day of classes for St. Mary’s High School at the current campus on Yampa Street. After holding classes for 107 years in downtown Colorado Springs, the school embarked on a new chapter in its already long history.

COLORADO SPRINGS. Human trafficking is a violation of human rights and everyone must act now in order to prevent this crime from spiraling out of control, according to John DiGirolamo, author and member of St. Joseph Parish in Salida.

COLORADO SPRINGS. Bishop Emeritus Michael John Sheridan, who served as Bishop of Colorado Springs from 2003-2021, died peacefully on Sept. 27 at Penrose Hospital.

​COLORADO SPRINGS. Franciscan Sister Georgiana Franzluebbers died Sept. 1 at age 91 at Mount St. Francis Nursing Center.

COLORADO SPRINGS. Following the loss of our baby, Bernadette Marie, to an early miscarriage in Spring 2021, my family and I have found ourselves frequently walking the sacred grounds of Mount St. Francis in Colorado Springs. The presence of a large Our Lady of Lourdes grotto, complete with a kneeling St. Bernadette statue, has been of great comfort to me as I have grieved and sought healing. 

Welcome to the first in a series of articles on the Eucharistic Revival in the Diocese of Colorado Springs! Once a month, we will cover important topics about the Eucharist, what that gift means for us as Catholics, and how we live that faith. There will be quotes from the Catechism of the Catholic Church and other recommended reading to help you go deeper into the subject. This page will be complemented every other issue with some thoughts on reclaiming Sunday as the Lord’s Day. COLORADO SPRINGS. In 1885, when nine girls enrolled in the school that is today St. Mary’s High School, the Sisters of Loretto were not thinking about an endowment to support students 137 years in the future, they were simply trying to find land for the school they just opened.

CASCADE. The Holy Rosary Chapel in Cascade has recently updated its facilities and grounds. Groups within the diocese are welcome to sign up for a group retreat, prayer group or other type of day use. The chapel is located at 4435 Holiday Trail, just 10 miles from downtown Colorado Springs along Highway 24. The ADA-accessible facility has seating for 80 within the lovely stone chapel. Amenities include a pipe organ, keyboard, sound system and beautiful acoustics.
