Come With Joy Into the Presence of the Lord

Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament is present, though hidden, in every tabernacle in every Catholic church. Within the Diocese of Colorado Springs, the visible Eucharistic Presence of Jesus in a monstrance is available in many locations, days and times for adoration and prayer. What follows is an overview of opportunities for this increasingly popular and highly recommended devotion. Availability differs from parish to parish, ranging from perpetual (24/7) to one or two hours per week or month.  

Art exhibit will feature works by SMHS students

COLORADO SPRINGS. St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish is hosting an art exhibit April 13 - May 16 titled “St. Mary’s High School: Eucharist Show.” The exhibit consists of 14 students’ perspectives on the Eucharist for contemplation. The exhibit will be open from 3 p.m.-9 p.m. on weekdays and after weekend Masses. 

Our Lady of the Woods offering Spanish classes

WOODLAND PARK. Our Lady of the Woods Parish in Woodland Park is offering a beginner-level Spanish class for those in any type of ministry working with Spanish speakers. The class takes place on Wednesdays from 1-3 p.m. and is taught by a retired public high school Spanish teacher. There is no charge for the class, and students can join any time. Sacred Heart of Jesus statue restored following vandalism

COLORADO SPRINGS.  Last May, the Sacred Heart Parish community was devastated when its statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, which proudly stood above the parish center for 68 years, was destroyed. A mentally ill person pushed it off the “eyebrow” above the parish center doors and it broke into multiple pieces. The community feared that the statue was gone forever.

Notre Dame Club connects alumni for service, camaraderie

COLORADO SPRINGS. The Notre Dame Club of Southern Colorado (NDCSC) exists to connect alumni, parents and friends in Southern Colorado to support the university’s mission to thrive in faith.

The NDCSC serves Notre Dame alumni and fans in southern Colorado. Formed in 1953, the club promotes solidarity and friendship among graduates, students and friends of the university. It does this by preserving the ideas which Notre Dame men and women have been taught to uphold while students there.
