COLORADO SPRINGS. The St. Serra Apostolate of Colorado Springs announced the winners of its 2023 Priesthood Appreciation Contest. The contest is held each year in conjunction with Vocations Awareness Week in early November.

COLORADO SPRINGS. The St. Serra Apostolate of Colorado Springs, which fosters and promotes vocations to the priesthood and religious life, will hold their annual anniversary Mass and dinner on Jan. 15, 2024 at the Newman Center, 4785 Stanton Rd., Colorado Springs, 80918. Father Kyle Ingels will celebrate Mass at 4 p.m., followed by an induction ceremony for new Serrans. A wine reception and silent auction will take place before the catered dinner. COLORADO SPRINGS. The Office of Stewardship and Development announced that an anonymous donor will match every dollar given to the Vocations Appeal from Nov. 17-30, up to $25,000. The matching grant is being offered in honor of Giving Tuesday on Nov. 28.

COLORADO SPRINGS. On Oct. 7, members representing three Colorado Lay Carmelite communities observed a day of recollection at Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Boulder.  
The day began with the celebration of Mass, at which four members of St. John the Baptist Lay Carmelite Community made their temporary professions (the second of three stages in the six-year formation process of becoming a Lay Carmelite).

In March of this year, I approached Father Kyle Ingels, Director of Vocations for the Diocese of Colorado Springs and Director of Campus Ministry at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs (UCCS), and offered my services to help organize a discernment retreat for the single men and boys of the diocese.  Father Ingels was very receptive and, during a series of planning meetings, we decided to hold the retreat on July 22 at the St. John Henry Newman Center located near UCCS.
