VIRGINIA. Serenity Quesnelle saw six fertility doctors, went through multiple procedures and braved surgery in the hopes of conceiving a child. After four years, one of her doctors felt that nothing more could be done and asked Quesnelle to write down the number of a nearby in vitro fertilization clinic. But Quesnelle and her husband didn’t want to go through IVF, a process that often results in the destruction of unborn lives. She wanted to find out what was going on in her body.

COLORADO SPRINGS. Angel Training for The Gabriel Project/Walking with Moms in Need, will take place April 13, 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m., at St. Paul Church. PUEBLO. Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN) will broadcast a program highlighting the work of the Pueblo-based organization Universal Chastity Education (UCE) on April 9 at 3:30 p.m. MST.

On April 12, Pro-Life Colorado, a coalition of pro-life organizations across the state, will team up with the National March for Life organization to host the first ever Colorado March for Life. While it is true that we have for many years held statewide rallies and marches at the state capitol in Denver, these were always independent undertakings sponsored by the Denver Archdiocese under the moniker “Celebrate Life March.” 

Joy! That is the main word that comes to mind as I look back on the 2024 Diocesan Youth Pilgrimage to Washington, D.C., for the National March for Life on Jan. 19.

Our group of 32 (19 youth, 13 chaperones) was enormously blessed by the entire experience. In this article I would like to go over some of the facts about abortion in Colorado. I will discuss the types of abortion and their techniques as well as complications and psychosocial issues. Other articles will discuss the ethics of abortion.

At the end of the new Ridley Scott biopic “Napoleon,” the director lists the total number of French soldiers killed under Napoleon’s command. As if the three hours of 19th-century warfare were not enough to remind you of the brutality of war, Scott drives it home as a last indictment of Napolean.  The numbers are sobering, but the disregard for human life seems to be his message. 

In February 1986, I started getting nauseous at the same time each day. A friend suggested I might be pregnant.  I highly doubted it, but decided to go to Planned Parenthood in early March for a pregnancy test. I was shocked to discover I was nine weeks pregnant.

COLORADO SPRINGS. The founders of Mater Filius Colorado Springs estimated it would take more than a year to raise the $2.5 million required to create a home for pregnant women in need.  Instead, the capital campaign concluded after a brief and exquisitely appropriate gestation of nine months, reaching its goal on Sept. 8, 2022, the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
