Bishop James Golka will celebrate the annual diocesan Blue Mass on May 16 at 12:10 p.m. at St. Mary’s Cathedral. The Mass is celebrated each year to show appreciation of the work done by law enforcement personnel, firefighters and first responders. All law enforcement personnel who are present will receive a blessed coin featuring the image of St. Michael the Archangel, the patron saint of the law enforcement profession. All firefighters present will a blessed coin featuring the image of St. Florian, the patron saint of firefighters. Coins will be blessed by Bishop Golka during the Mass. Peace officers and firefighters are invited to wear their uniform of the day or their Class A dress uniform. Those who plan to attend are asked to RSVP to Father Brad Noonan at fatherbrad@msn.com.
