Janelle O'Keeffe

COLORADO SPRINGS. Janelle O’Keeffe, a longtime member of the Serra Club of Colorado Springs, died July 18 in Colorado Springs. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Aug. 19 at the Newman Center, followed by burial at Pikes Peak National Cemetery.

She was born Nov. 19, 1932, in Nashville, Tennessee, to Stanely and Virginia Cortner. After graduating from Vanderbilt University in 1954, she worked as an airline stewardess. She married her husband Dave O’Keeffe in 1955, and the couple had five children. The family lived in Lake Oswego, Oregon, and Falls Church, Virginia, before settling in Colorado Springs.
O’Keeffe volunterred as a church organist and with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in addition to the Serra Club. She is survived by five children, 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
