Bishop Golka offers weekly video reflections that can be seen on YouTube

COLORADO SPRINGS. Bishop James Golka is recording weekly videos, each three to four minutes in length, reflecting on the Scripture readings and other themes related to the upcoming Sunday Mass. Links to the videos can be found by visiting the diocesan website, diocs.org, scrolling to the middle of the home page and clicking on the image shown at right.

The videos are also sent out with the weekly diocesan e-newsletter, e-Vangelize. To subscribe to the free e-newsletter, which also includes news and events happening around the diocese, visit www.dioceseofcoloradosprings/flocknote.com and create a Flocknote account using one’s preferred email address or mobile phone number. Once an account is created, there will be an option to subscribe to e-Vangelize.

The videos can also be viewed directly on the diocesan YouTube channel, “Webmaster Diocese of Colorado Springs,” and clicking on the playlist titled “Bishop Golka’s Reflections.”

Viewers of the videos have described them as “encouraging” and “informative.”

“I always learn something to ponder from these wonderful (video) presentations,” wrote one viewer. “Thank you so much for these valuable pearls of wisdom each week.”

Another viewer called the videos “meaningful, thought-provoking, needed and appreciated moments of reflection.”

Bishop Golka began recording weekly videos while serving as Rector of St. Mary’s Cathedral in the Diocese of Grand Island, Nebraska, several years before the COVID-19 pandemic caused many parishes and dioceses to start recording Masses for the faithful who could not attend church in person.
