Appreciation for Synod listening sessions

Letter to the Editor

In the ongoing Synod gatherings, Pope Francis gives us the opportunity to journey together as Church, to listen and encounter one another. So, we thank Bishop Golka for the series of listening sessions within our Diocese.
We were blessed by those who shared their thoughts in the Northern Deanery meeting (and the other meetings across the diocese, I am sure), hearing life experiences from all perspectives and how these effect our relationships within the Church and even our world.
Many expressed the joy and blessings they receive, while others spoke of deep wounds and the search for healing within their lives. Listening and discerning what we heard so that we may walk humbly with each other on our spiritual journeys is our challenge.
Thank you, Bishop Golka, for listening to the blessings, challenges, and dreams we all have for our Church and how that helps us encounter the world today and tomorrow.
