EWTN Family Celebration set for September 21 at Magness Arena

COLORADO SPRINGS. Eternal Word Television Network’s annual Family Celebration will take place Sept. 21 at Magness Arena on the campus of the University of Denver. The event is free and open to the public, but online registration is required at

The theme of this year’s family celebration is “Faith Moves Mountains.” Doors open at 8 a.m., with EWTN Chairman of the Board Michael Warsaw scheduled to deliver the opening prayer at 9:30 a.m. Speakers will include Dr. David Anders, host of “Called to Communion,”  Johnette Williams, host of “Women of Grace,” and others.

There will also be a Spanish-language track featuring Fathers Agustino Torres and Pedro Nuñez as well as media personality Alejandro Bermúdez.

At 3:30 p.m., there will be a taping of the “EWTN LIVE” television program with Jesuit Father Mitch Pacwa, Williams, Anders and Chris Stefanick. The show will air on Sept. 25.

At 4:30 p.m., participants will pray the rosary with the Franciscan Missionaries of the Eternal Word. Denver Auxiliary Bishop Jorge Rodriguez will celebrate Mass at 5 p.m. There will also be opportunities for confession and eucharistic adoration throughout the day.

Authors featured in the EWTN Religious Catalogue as well as the staff of the National Catholic Register will also be present. 

Parking will be available for a fee at the University of Denver, but those those who plan to attend also have the option of parking at a light rail station and taking a train to Magness Arena.
