Emily Cimino dies at age 78
COLORADO SPRINGS. Emily Cimino, a longtime member of St. Paul Parish, died Nov. 17 at age 78. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Nov. 22 at St. Paul. Born Emily Roitz on Sept. 24, 1938 in Trinidad, she graduated as class valedictorian in 1956 from Holy Trinity School in Trinidad. She attended both Trinidad Junior College and the University of Northern Colorado on scholarship. After college, she married Jay Cimino on Oct. 15, 1960. They had four children. She also ran her own business, Emily’s Decorative Plants, for 25 years, supplying plant leases, office plants and silk and fresh floral arrangements. She was in charge of providing all of the Christmas trees and poinsettias displayed in various Phil Long Dealerships in the Pikes Peak Region. Emily Cimino is survived by her husband, Jay; children Gina, Vince, Mike and Laurie; and eight grandchildren.
