Bishop Sheridan to ordain two men to the priesthood May 30; event will be livestreamed

COLORADO SPRINGS. Bishop Michael Sheridan will ordain Deacons Timothy O’Connell and Chance Billmeyer to the priesthood on May 30 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Cathedral.

Attendance at the Mass will be limited to family members due to social distancing restrictions. However, the ordination will be streamed via Facebook Live on The Catholic Diocese of Colorado Springs Facebook page (@CatholicDioceseCOS). A link to the page will also be available on the diocesan website, www.diocs.org.

The livestream will begin at 9:45 a.m., and viewers are asked to tune in at that time to ensure that they can see the entire event.

After completing his studies at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary in Emmitsburg, Maryland, Deacon O’Connell was ordained to the transitional diaconate on June 1, 2019. He has been assisting at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish.

Deacon Billmeyer was ordained to the transitional diaconate on Dec. 21, 2019. He recently completed his theological studies at Mount St. Mary’s and has been assisting at St. Benedict’s Parish in Baltimore.
