Council for Black Catholics plans Black History Month events

COLORADO SPRINGS. The Colorado Springs Council for Black Catholics will sponsor a free genealogy workshop on Feb. 4 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. The workshop will take place at the African-American Historical and Genealogical Society of Colorado Springs museum, located at 1620 S. Bijou St. Refreshments will served, and there is no admission fee. For more information, contact cscbc.be.seen@gmail.com

 

The council will also hold its annual Mardi Gras fundraiser, benefitting the St. Martin de Porres Scholarship Fund, on Feb. 25 from 6-11 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 567 Marquette in Security. Advance tickets are on sale for $20. Cost at the door is $25. To purchase tickets, send an email to cscbc.be.seen@gmail.com or contact a member of the council.
