Scout religious award retreat set for Oct. 8 at Divine Redeemer
COLORADO SPRINGS. The Catholic Committee on Scouting is once again holding a retreat for Catholic and non-Catholic Christian girls and boys in various Scouting programs who wish to work on religious awards. The retreat will take place on Oct. 8 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at Divine Redeemer School. Cost is $15 for early registrations or $20 after Oct. 5. Lunch will be provided. St. Francis of Assisi raising funds for ‘Art of Salvation’ display
COLORADO SPRINGS. The Knights of Columbus at St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Colorado Springs are hosting a fundraising dinner on Aug. 20 at 6 p.m. Proceeds from the event will go toward a project that aims to transform the classroom hallway into a gallery of framed prints of classical art depicting God’s plan of salvation. Each masterpiece will be accompanied by Scripture, a brief explanation and excerpts from the Catechism of the Catholic Church. The project is being accomplished using only private donations. Theater group to be formed at St. Peter in Monument
MONUMENT. St. Peter Parish in Monument is forming “LOLEK,” - John Paul II Generation Theater Group, a celebration of the childhood of St. John Paul II. The group will rehearse and present plays, movies, skits and more and is open to parishioners of all ages and abilities. Holy Cross novices make first profession of vows
COLORADO SPRINGS. Six men who are in formation to become priests of United States Province of the Congregation of Holy Cross made their first profession of vows on July 30 at Sacred Heart Parish in Colorado Springs. The six men, who had been studying at the order’s novitiate in Cascade for the past year under the direction of Holy Cross Father Ken Molinaro, are Cameron Corens, Paul Fortin, Robert Lisowski, Geoffrey Mooney, Charlie Skinner and David Smith. They will continue their formation at Moreau Seminary at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind.
