Salida pregnancy center benefits from Respect Life Dinner
COLORADO SPRINGS. Bishop Michael Sheridan presented Steve Lander, Salida Pregnancy Resource Center (SPRC) Board President, with a $10,000 check to aid in their mission to assist women who are pregnant. This check is part of the fundraising proceeds of the 2017 Bishop’s Respect Life Dinner. The presentation occurred at St. Mary Cathedral following the diocesan Chrism Mass on March 27. Also on hand to receive the check were Beth Russell, SPRC Director, Pam Hinerman, Nurse Manager, Beverly Scanga, SPRC Board Member, and Father Jim Williams, pastor of St. Joseph Parish in Salida
The Salida Pregnancy Resource Center plans to use the money to hire an ultrasound nurse as well as expand other services to mothers-to-be in Salida.
“This check opens up the center for more hours, enables more pregnancy and STD testing and allows us to serve to community better,” Russell said.
The next Respect Life Dinner will be held on October 16, 2018, when Dr. Alveda King will be the keynote speaker. Tickets for the dinner will go on sale Aug. 1.
