NEW YORK.  Close to eight decades ago, William Moulton Marston — whose name seems more suited to a stodgy novelist than a writer of comic books — created Wonder Woman. In the years since, the character has, of course, become a staple for DC Comics.

Lists are everywhere in what I have been reading lately.  From “The Best Books of Summer” to “15 Ways to Improve Personal Finances,” there is no shortage of ideas this time of year of ways to spend our time and enhance our lives.  In the spirit of those lists, I thought I would do my own this month around ways to integrate charity into daily routine.  Many of you will find you are already engaged in one or more of these activities.  Not everything is for everyone, but hopefully it will give some ideas, spur some thought, and maybe even conversation.

To receive Holy Communion is still the greatest gift on this earth, and it is always an experience to be treasured.

Some people may wish to “donate their body to science” after they die. Such a gift of themselves can be objectively good and praiseworthy provided that their body would contribute to meaningful research or study, and that it would not be used in a disrespectful or otherwise inappropriate manner.
