In the last month, we have witnessed two very impactful events in our country. On July 13, we witnessed a shocking assassination attempt on a former president.  Days later, we witnessed one of the largest gatherings of  Catholic faithful in recent history at the National Eucharistic Congress in Indianapolis.

En el último mes hemos sido testigos de dos acontecimientos muy impactantes en nuestro país.   El 13 de julio fuimos testigos de un impactante intento de asesinato de un ex presidente.  Días después, asistimos a una de las mayores concentraciones de fieles católicos de la historia reciente en el Congreso Eucarístico Nacional de Indianápolis.

"Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained.” (John 20:23)

In 1922, 48-year-old G.K. Chesterton came into full communion with the Catholic Church.  Fourteen years later, in his autobiography, Chesterton would explain why he became Catholic with this simple, but profound, statement: “To get rid of my sins.”

"Los pecados serán perdonados a los que ustedes se los perdonen, y serán retenidos a los que ustedes se los retengan”. (Juan 20, 23)

En 1922, G.K. Chesterton, de 48 años, entró en plena comunión con la Iglesia católica.  Catorce años más tarde, en su autobiografía, Chesterton explicaría por qué se hizo católico con esta sencilla, pero profunda, afirmación:  “Para librarme de mis pecados”.
