COLORADO SPRINGS. The old adage “actions speak louder than words” applies perfectly to the latest addition to the Corpus Christi Parish grounds.  The support of the diocese for families, especially mothers, who have lost children has always been expressed verbally, but recently the Corpus Christi Youth Group (CCYG) has taken action to visually demonstrate the love and support of the diocese by installing a garden for mothers who are grieving the loss of a child.

The Project Lead the Way (PLTW) engineering program at St. Mary’s High School will be fully in place this fall with the addition of the fourth course completing a highly successful four-year roll out. The PLTW engineering program strengthens St. Mary’s already strong STEM (science technology engineering math) offerings.

COLORADO SPRINGS. The three Portuguese children to whom the Blessed Mother appeared six times in 1917 were not chosen at random but rather were open to Mary’s messages because of the spiritual preparation they had undergone — a lesson that we should all take to heart, Jesuit Father Mitch Pacwa told a record-breaking crowd at Pikes Peak Center in downtown Colorado Springs on Aug. 4.

COLORADO SPRINGS. Entries are now being accepted for the 2017 Respect Life Project Competition, which is part of the annual Bishop’s Respect Life Dinner. The competition is open to youth ages 13-18.

COLORADO SPRINGS. Sacred Heart Parish in Colorado Springs is undertaking a major restoration of the church’s interior — 95 years after its last renovation in 1922.

“I am thrilled to put a process in place to make the church last for another 100 years,” said Holy Cross Father Ron Raab, pastor of Sacred Heart. “This is my real goal.”

Year after year, Totus Tuus program helps draw kids to Christ

COLORADO SPRINGS. The Diocese of Colorado Springs is once again hosting the Totus Tuus program, which is taking place at 19 parishes around the diocese this summer. The program is broken into two age groups — a day program for elementary-age kids and a night program for middle-schoolers and high-schoolers. This year, there are nine college students and seminarians leading Totus Tuus.
