National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children set for Sept. 14

COLORADO SPRINGS. The Diocese of Colorado Springs will commemorate the National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children on Sept. 14 at 8:30 a.m. at Divine Redeemer Church, 901 N. Logan Ave., 80907. 

The diocesan day of remembance will begin with veneration of a relic of the Holy Cross, followed by Mass at 9 a.m. and prayer at the Memorial Garden for aborted children, just outside the church. The day will conclude with coffee and donuts, exhibits and a speaker in the community hall. All are invited to attend.

A new rule is expected this month from the Supreme Court of the case of U.S. Food and Drug Administration vs. Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine. The case concerns the safety of Mifepristone and Misoprostol for medical abortion. Mifipristone is a drug used to block progesterone for a developing fetus ending its life and Misoprostol is used to induce uterine contractions to expel the dead tissue. What is the controversy?

Walk for Life set for June 1 at Memorial Park

COLORADO SPRINGS. Life Network will hold its annual Walk for Life on June 1 at Memorial Park in downtown Colorado Springs. The event helps to support Life Network’s three crisis pregnancy centers in the Pikes Peak Region.     General Robert Titus dies Sept. 8 at age 97

    COLORADO SPRINGS. General Robert Titus, a highly decorated veteran of three wars, died Sept. 8 at age 91. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Sept. 23 at Corpus Christi Parish, followed by burial in the U.S. Air Force Academy Cemetery.
