Blue Mass to be held May 13 at cathedral

COLORADO SPRINGS. Bishop James Golka will celebrate the annual diocesan Blue Mass for law enforcement, firefighter and emergency services personnel on May 13 at 12:10 p.m. at St. Mary’s Cathedral, followed by a lunch reception. Those who plan to attend are asked to RSVP to Father Brad Noonan at fatherbrad@msn.com

Each year, our Diocesan Bishop celebrates the Blue Mass in appreciation of all the dedicated and professional work of our local Law Enforcement Personnel, Firefighters, and Emergency Services/First Responders.

This year in loving memory we will honor:

  • Deacon Gene Eastham – CSPD Chaplain for 28 years
  • Michael Collins and Robin Anderson – Falcon Fire Chaplains
  • Andrew Koldeway – Castle Rock Firefighter EMT
  • Evan Dunn – Golden Police Officer killed in the line of duty

All law enforcement personnel who are present will receive a St. Michael, the Archangel coin, personally blessed by Bishop Golka during the Mass. St. Michael the Archangel is the patron saint of the Law Enforcement profession.

All firefighters who are present will receive a St. Florian coin, personally blessed by Bishop Golka during the Mass. St. Florian is the patron saint of the Firefighters’ profession.

Please RSVP to fatherbrad@msn.com so we are sure to have a blessed coin for you.

All Peace Officers and Firefighters are invited to wear their uniform of the day or their Class A dress uniform.
There is a lunch recption after the Mass, everyone is invited.
