Mount St. Francis will host the Steps to Empower walk on Aug. 5, to benefit Bakhita Mountain Home for survivors of human trafficking. The one-mile walk on the grounds begins at 9 a.m. Walk-in registration will open at 8 a.m. Cost for ages 13 and up is $25; 12 and under is $20. Register before July 23 to reserve a Steps to Empower T-shirt. Sponsorship opportunities are available. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Stanislaus Parish in Omaha, Nebraska, followed by burial at St. John’s Cemetery.
