Rev. Khanh Pham-Nguyen
HONOLULU. Father Alphonsus Khanh Kim Pham-Nguyen died July 27 at age 60 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. A vigil and Requiem Mass took place at Our Lady of Lavang Church in Albuquerque Aug.8-9. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Aug. 16 at Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Honolulu, Hawaii, with Bishop Larry Silva presiding, followed by a private Rite of Committal.
Father Pham-Nguyen was born Feb. 3, 1965 in Vietnam. He was ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of Colorado Springs on June 7, 1997, by Bishop Richard Hanifen. After ordination, he served at several parishes in the diocese, including St. Mary’s Cathedral, Our Lady of Guadalupe, Our Lady of the Visitation in Elizabeth, Holy Family in Security, St. Joseph in Fountain, Sacred Heart Parish in Cheyenne Wells and St. Augustine in Kit Carson.
In 2008, he was incardinated in the Diocese of Honolulu. At the time of his death, he was assigned as pastor of Sts. Peter and Paul Parish.
Father Pham-Nguyen is survived by two brothers, two sisters, and many nieces and nephews.
