Bishop James R. Golka / Friday, April 10, 2026 / Categories: Diocesan News, Bishop's Corner, The Bishop's Crozier THE BISHOP'S CROZIER: With Humble Gratitude By Archbishop James R. Golka To the good faithful of the Diocese of Colorado Springs: Please know of my abundant gratitude to every one of you. Your kindness, generosity, faithfuness, and prayers have been gifts to me. I jokingly say that the reason the Holy Father is moving me to Denver is because all of you are so good! If you weren’t such a good Diocese I would not be moving. (This might not be a joke) I am very excited for the future of Colorado Springs Diocese. God has begun many good works in us. I invite and challenge each of you to be part of God’s plan and works for this Diocese. I also ask you to pray for my successor, our new Bishop. We do not know who he is yet, but God does. Ask God to begin blessing him now and filling him up with trust and charity so that he may serve us well. Know of my love for you. May the love of Christ continue to hold us all. Thank you for your prayers during this time of transition.
