Archbishop Golka will ordain three men to the priesthood on June 6 at 10 a.m. at Holy Apostles Parish
Archbishop James Golka will ordain Deacons Dominic Ambuul, Ian White and Yunior Gonzalez-Diaz on June 6 at 10 a.m. at Holy Apostles Parish in Colorado Springs. The event is open to the public. Deacon Ambuul will celebrate his first Mass at Corpus Christi Church on Sunday, June 7 at 11 a.m. Deacon White will celebrate his first Mass on Sunday, June 7 at 1:30 p.m. Deacon Gonzalez-Diaz will celebrate his first Mass in English on Sunday, June 7 at 9 a.m. at St. Joseph Parish in Colorado Springs and in Spanish on Sunday, June 7 at 12 p.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral. He will also celebrate Mass on June 7 at 5 p.m. in English at St. Peter Parish in Monument.
Following ordination, Deacon Ambuul will serve as parochial vicar at Our Lady of the Pines Parish in the Black Forest section of Colorado Springs; Deacon White will serve as parochial vicar at St. Peter Parish in Monument; and Deacon Gonazalez-Diaz will serve as parochial vicar at St. Mary's Cathedral.
The five men who are scheduled to receive the sacrament of Holy Orders in 2027 will be ordained transitional deacons in December of 2026. If no bishop has been appointed for the Diocese of Colorado Springs, Archbishop Emeritus Joseph Naumann of Kansas City, Kansas, will celebrate the ordination Mass.
