Day two of my pilgrimage pulls back its covers. Sky, mountains, forest, and trail emerge from early morning’s deep purple gloaming to bathe in streams of gold. Electric blue light lingers in the glen as I head out my own door in the Colorado mountains for the next day of pilgrimage prayer on the Camino de Santiago France, the most popular route of the famous pilgrimage  also known as the Way of St. James.

In this era of podcasts and streaming services, vigilant Catholic parents will want to search for cinematic productions which tell absorbing stories without descending into standard societal sinkholes: needless profanity; permissive drug use, cheerless nudity; sympathetic portrayals of sexual depravity; and smirking dismissals of the existence of God 

CASTLE ROCK.  Knights of Columbus Council No. 8909 at St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Castle Rock is once again offering CD sets and accompanying prayer booklets for “A Knight’s Rosary,” a devotional aid to help people pray the rosary. 

COLORADO SPRINGS. The Notre Dame Club of Southern Colorado and Colorado College are sponsoring the annual Hesburgh Lecture on Oct. 26 at 6 p.m. at Armstrong Hall, 14 E. GRAND JUNCTION. Catholic Daughters of the Americas held its biennial Colorado state convention June 9-11 in Grand Junction. Eleven of the 13 state courts were represented, with a total of 75 participants.
