Antonette Trout-Mikel
PARKER. Antonette Julia “Toni” Trout-Mikel of Parker died Oct. 19 of cancer. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by Bishop James Golka on Oct. 29 at Ave Maria Parish in Parker, followed by interment at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
Toni was born to Edward and Anna Shimshock of McClellandtown, Pennsylvania. She worked for Prudential Insurance, where she met John Trout of Clarksville. In 1969, they were married and moved to Colorado. Toni joined Ave Maria Parish in 1980.
John passed away in 1992 after 23 years of marriage. Toni then took over his role of sales representative for Batesville Casket Company.
In 1995, Toni met Brad Mikel, who was also widowed, and they were married in 1999 in Vatican City. After her retirement from Batesville, Toni worked alongside Brad as co-owner and manager at his photography studio, Mikel-Gamber Photography in Aurora. In their retired time, they enjoyed traveling the world together and sharing their faith.
She is survived by her husband, Brad; her children: John Scott (Brooke) Trout of Las Vegas, Nev.; and Christina Ann (Craig) Malley of Tampa, Fla. She is also survived by Brad’s children: daughter, Jennifer Mikel and her son, Jack of Astoria, Ore.; and son, Gregory of Arvada, Colo.; along with many other family members and a legion of friends and faith partners.
