COLORADO SPRINGS. The Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court Holy Family No. 1794 in Security hosted the organization’s 50th Biennial State Convention from June 6-8 at the Radisson Hotel in Colorado Springs.  We celebrated the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Catholic Daughters’ Colorado State Board.

We were honored to have Bishop James Golka, Father Humerto Marquez, State Chaplain from Longmont, and Father Ricardo Rosales, pastor of St. Dominic Parish in Security, celebrate Mass for us.

All of our 12 courts were in attendance, including those from Alamosa, La Junta, Grand Junction, Sterling, Durango, Cortez, Security, Lakewood, Wheat Ridge, Brighton, Longmont, and Woodland Park.  We had close to 100 ladies from all over Colorado come help celebrate with us.

Father John Stapleton, chaplain for Holy Family High School in Broomfield, was installed as our new state chaplain.

In keeping with our motto of “Unity and Charity,” the snacks left over from the hospitality room (which we provided for all attending the convention at the hotel) were donated to the Aspen Mine Center in Cripple Creek for kids’ summer lunches, as well as to the Vacation Bible School held at St. Dominic Parish in June.
