COLORADO SPRINGS. Bishop James Golka will celebrate a White Mass for doctors, nurses and other health care professionals on Oct. 24 at 12:10 p.m. at St. Mary’s Cathedral. The purpose of the Mass is to honor and pray with and for all those who serve in the medical professions under the patronage of St. Luke. All are invited to attend.

NEW YORK.  Although the horror sequel “The Exorcist: Believer” (R, Universal) gets off to a reasonably promising start, it degenerates quickly. In fact, it ends up being a muddle both dramatically and, more significantly, in its treatment of religion.

It’s October, and our Colorado weather will soon chase away our flower-filled gardens. The temperatures will freeze our vegetable plots and make them a distant memory.
