COLORADO SPRINGS. St. Gabriel Parish will offer three grief support groups starting in March: An English-language bereavement support group and a Spanish-language bereavement support group, both on Thursday evenings from 6:30-8 p.m. beginning March 13 and running for 10 weeks. Also, “When A Loved One Dies by Suicide,” a group specifically for those who’ve lost a loved one to suicide whether recently or many years ago, will run for eight weeks on Tuesday evenings from 6:30-8 p.m. beginning March 25. DENVER. The four bishops of Colorado issued a joint statement Jan. 23 through the Colorado Catholic Conference as President Donald Trump signed various executive orders related to immigration and citizenship requirements.

COLORADO SPRINGS.  Bishop James Golka will celebrate a Votive Mass for the Feast of the Holy Face on March 4 at 12:10 p.m. at St. Mary’s Cathedral. Following the Mass, there will be veneration of an image of the Veil of Veronica and other prayers. 

In this liturgical “ordinary time” of year, we Catholics have a case of the “in-betweens.” We’ve celebrated the birth of Jesus at Christmas and know Lent will soon be here, followed by his resurrection and the glorious celebrations of Easter. During this “in-between time” what is a gardener to do? This ordinary time with its bitter temperatures, and frozen solid ground, all we’re asking for is a little patch of green grass!
