Notre Dame Club connects alumni for service, camaraderie

COLORADO SPRINGS. The Notre Dame Club of Southern Colorado (NDCSC) exists to connect alumni, parents and friends in Southern Colorado to support the university’s mission to thrive in faith.

The NDCSC serves Notre Dame alumni and fans in southern Colorado. Formed in 1953, the club promotes solidarity and friendship among graduates, students and friends of the university. It does this by preserving the ideas which Notre Dame men and women have been taught to uphold while students there.

Holy Saturday and the Easter Vigil

Morning Mass is not celebrated anywhere in the world on Holy Saturday. Sorrowfully, the Church Universal pauses in her liturgical life, recalling the forty hours when Jesus was dead and buried. Altars, stripped on Holy Thursday, remain bare; candles and decorations removed.

The Church is in mourning.

Kerygma” is a Greek word meaning “proclamation.” The kerygma isn’t just a news announcement. It is the proclamation of salvation: that Jesus came to save us from sin and death, and that he invites us into relationship with him.
